The only downside of large flat screen TVs is that the sound imaging isn’t really up to the screen quality. So, innovative as ever, KEF engineers have developed two sophisticated new high performance home theatre speaker systems to fill the room with a compelling 3D soundscape so realistic it gives you goosebumps.

Both systems look as clean as they sound because the front left/right and the all-important centre speaker are built into one slender gloss-finished aluminium bar sitting above or below your TV – a perfect visual match that incidentally eliminates the need to run cable to separate front speakers. The compact rear satellites each house a superbly natural sounding 19mm (0.75in.) tweeter and two 50mm (2in.) bass drivers, and are easy to mount
horizontally or vertically on any wall or shelf, or on slim optional stands. Bass extension is gloriously full-bodied, thanks to KEF’s acclaimed KUBE-1 or KUBE-2 subwoofers, with a 200W Class-D amp driving a 200mm (8in.) or 250mm (10in.) long-throw bass driver and matching Auxiliary Bass Radiator (ABR).

The difference between the two systems lies in the size and specification of the subwoofer and the sound bar that incorporates all three front channels. Which to choose therefore depends mainly on the dimensions of your TV and room.

With the same array of 19mm (0.75in.) tweeter and twin 50mm (2in.) bass drivers in each of the three channels in the slender front soundbar and both the compact rear satellites, KHT7005 creates a realistic, spatially accurate and richly detailed sound picture throughout all but the largest rooms.


For flat screen TVs of 32in. and larger, replacing the tiny standard speakers with high performance 3D acoustic imaging.
